time traveling II

(part 2)

1950 - 1859.
Colors and patterns remain, but cloths become simpler and dresses seem to become somewhat shorter.

The TV ...
 The Lincoln Continental ...

The Camera ...
And just for that a Coca-Cola advertise ...
The great stars are born in the 50's: Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, James Dean and the king of rock and roll Elvis Presley.

But let us not forget about the greatest diva of all times: the Barbie doll.

1960 - 1969.

Just one word: SHORT. finally some shorter dresses. Looks like the 60's trends were a lot different from other decades.
Also we have the Lincoln again ...

New York ...

The 60's were the great decade of space science and for that we have the landing of Apollo 11 on the Moon ...

Down on Earth other stars were making their appearance: The Beatles with john Lennon, Jimi Hendrix,Julie Andrews.
 1970 - 1979.
Ether short and tight or long and flaring, pants are worn by both men and women. Did I mention this is the start of glitter excess?

These looks were inspired by the Hippie movement, Hollywood stars and others. Also the afro look was very popular. Look may also include: platform shoes, turtle-necks and flower prints in bright colors.

This decade gave birth to great rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper,  etc. and to great Disco music.

Also the 70's were the rise of the Punk music:  Ramones, Blondie, Patti Smith, the Sex Pistols, The Clash etc.

Decade of the first portable calculator ...

And the all time classic ... (and probably the father of  modern Sci-Fi movies )

Also great movies as: Jaws, Grease, The Exorcist, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman, The Godfather, Saturday Night Fever, Rocky, King Kong (remake after the movie from 1933) and Jaws 2 etc. are part of the reaches that the 70's offer.

 end of part 2.

( I will post the 80's ,90's and 00's on separately because: a)it's like 1 am in the morning and I have school tomorrow; b) I spent my childhood in the 90's so I am really proud to be a 90's kid(I am repeating myself, aren't?); c)because there is too much info on one post).

Today's song: Sex pistols - God save the queen (because I am a social reject)

Tune in for part 3.

Oh and sorry if I missed anything, I'm really tired and I kind of screw things up when tired. And it's really impossible to get all the stuff that happened between 1910 and 1979 in just 2 posts. This is just a summary. Cultural summary? :D I try ... Ok, see you in part 3!

Adiós!

time traveling and something about me ...

Nihao!

I wanted to make something nice, because I recently discovered I suffer from mood swings that are getting worser and worser. i think I might me bipolar ... that sucks ...  .... I call this time traveling(but only a summary because I could talk for a while and still not finish.)

So let's start!

First  1910 - 1919.
Colors, laces, ribbons and flowery patterns ruled the fashion sector. Also if you didn't have a hat you were not a lady.

A 1919 Ford ...
 An office ...
 Camera ...

1920 - 1929.
Shortly after WWI. Short haired girls with hats. Dresses become shorter but still colorful. And hats, lots of hats.

a car and a badass looking dude ... (made some improvements may I say ...)

 school in the USA ...
speaking of which  ... New York in early 20's.
The 'birth' of Charlie Chaplin, Mickey Mouse and Harry Houdini.

1930 - 1939.
The hat has disappeared but the wavy, short hair is still fashionable. Also this is the decade of polka-dots and floral patterns, wavy sleeves and collars.(Not sure if that term really goes there.)

 a Mercedes Benz ...

New York ...

And our favorite heroine ... Betty Boop.

Also the release of Snow White and The Wizard of Oz.

1940 - 1941.
One picture to describe it all for '40 fashion.

while the car now looks like this ...

the camera looks like this ...

and New York looks like this ...

too bad we also have to see this ...

No words to describe this.

(end of part 1)
